My Television Drama Treatment

TITLE: The Spinner 

FORMAT DESCRIPTION: Serial – 8 x 50 mins 

LOGLINE: A group of teenagers play the game 'spin the bottle' but are trapped in the game, if they refuse to kiss their fated partner they are captured by 'The Spinner' and killed. But the question is – who is The Spinner? 

DESCRIPTION: The show is set in the modern day in a small town where nothing much happens. Chaos breaks when a group of teenagers start to play the game 'spin the bottle' as people start to die when they refuse to accept their fate. Soon they all start to crumble in fear and the game takes over their lives and their relationships which causes drama in their group. As their group crumbles they each become more endangered and likely to get others involved in he game so they must decide whether to sacrifice themselves to the game or selfishly ignore it and get others involved or even get themselves killed. Behind all this is The Spinner who leaves tasks and clues around to control the teenagers and tell them who to kiss next. The group must try to work out who The Spinner is and defeat the game in order to escape. 

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHIES: Gabby – Main character who is a stereotypical rich white girl cheerleader type, she is very protected and gets everything she wants from her dad so when she must work things out for herself and try to protect her friends she must become more self dependent and learn more things about herself. 

Taylor – Gabby's crush since she has hand since 8th grade, the typical fit jock type who see's Gabby as more of a friend but doesn't really know  what he feels yet.  

Sophie – Quite a quiet and smart girl but is still a valuable member of the group, she is very close with Gabby but doesn't have the same confidence as her so usually lets her take the lead. 

Nick – Clown of the group, he is very funny but can be very annoying as well. He has a rough home life so spends as much time with his friends as he can but also struggles with drug abuse and alcohol issues. 

Katie – Gets very scared easily and although she's bubbly and confident around her friends when she has to deal with things that may  threaten her life she would be the first to run and hide without caring about the lives of her friends. 

Chris – Very quiet and strange character, he doesn't say much and is a suspicious character throughout the series. No one has ever been to his house or seen any of his family so they don't know much about his home life. 

Toby – The nerd at school who helps gabby at school and wishes he could be in the group but knows he can't fit in. 

EPISODE OUTLINE: Starts with a chase scene of a girl at school who is being chased by The Spinner, she is captured and taken into the abyss. We then see Gabby at home getting ready for a night out with her friends. There is a gathering where the group  plays spin the bottle, at some point it lands on Gabby and Taylor and she thinks this is her chance but Taylor refuses to kiss her. Gabby is truly upset but soon enough the lights go out and chaos starts, Taylor is taken by The Spinner. 

The group go to the police but have no proof and can barely explain what happened but report Taylor missing. They go to school on Monday but no one seems right, a body of a girl from the school has been found in the woods. We are introduced to other characters such as Toby. We also see the parents and home lives of all the characters (all except Chris) in this episode. The group decide to investigate as to where Taylor might be, they find some clues left by The Spinner and are taken to the woods where the girl was killed. They come across an abandoned house and find Taylor tied up inside.
