Location Reports

Location 1: Senior Hall Stage of St Mary's School Gerrards Cross

This location is highly successful as a neutral place, portraying the artist's world outside of the narrative and presenting all the focus to be on AMELIA X as there is no background distraction. The red and blue lighting adds asthetic and fits the conventions of dance music videos. It is also symbolic of the narrative personalities clashing to create AMELIA X; the blue for the innocent and pure side of her and the red for the psycho and angry, hurt part of her.

Location 2: Iver Heath Recreation Grounds

This location is vibrant and colourful, portraying the idea of playfulness and lightness. It is perfect in portraying the happier part of the narrative and the nostalgic past of AMELIA X's relationship before it goes sour. It contrasts the darkness and maturity of the other locations creating a clear juxtaposition in the settings of the music video. The colourful graffiti wall is also a nice background, making the actors pop and creating dimension in the scene.

Location 3: The living room of Amelia's house

This location shows AMELIA X in the private life, reflecting the idea of everyone breaking their barriers in their home as it is the safe place to release emotion. The colours of the living room are quite neutral and bland which allows the focus to be on the colourful aspects of the scene, AMELIA X and the flowers. It is quite small and cramped to reflect the feelings in her mind and how she suddenly feels enclosed in sorrow.

Location 4: The hotel room in The Mariott Hotel Heathrow

This location is dark and ominous connoting to the darkness and graphic content that happens in the hotel room. It creates a sensation also of enclosure and entrapment suggesting that the girlfriend cannot escape. It is bland also to keep the focus on the action of the scene and has adult connatations which are subverted and twisted in a dark way. A yellow light will be used here instead of a bright white to emphasise all this.
